The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) concluded that a cause and effect relationship has been established between the consumption of biotin and maintenance of healthy hair. Biotin has also been studied for its impact on nail health. In one study, researchers found that 2.5 mg biotin daily for 6-15 months improved cases of brittle nails and increased nail thickness.*

Research has shown that astaxanthin’s powerful antioxidant properties can help protect skin against oxidative stress, which contributes to premature aging, promote evenness in skin tone, and help keep skin moisturized. In one study, participants who supplemented with astaxanthin over 6 weeks reported significant improvements in the appearance of fine lines, as well as more hydrated skin overall.*

Sea buckthorn is a thorny bush whose orange berries naturally contain a powerhouse of nutrients including proteins, essential amino acids, and fatty acids (including oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid). It contains vitamin C, an antioxidant, and flavanoids like leucocyanidin, catechin, and isorhamnetin. Traditionally, Ancient Greeks fed Sea Buckthorn berries to horses to make their coats shine.

The sea buckthorn berries we use are sustainably picked whole in Germany, Pakistan, Romania, and Russia. Our astaxanthin is produced from algae phototropically grown in a closed system and fed by naturally purified Himalayan mountain water. Both are then extracted using a supercritical extraction process that uses carbon dioxide to preserve their nutritional profiles.
